My Fab Life by Mercy Amare

Blurb:
Its the life i was born to live: billionaire's daughters, living amongst the rich and famous. But my mom kept me a secret from my dad. UNTIL now.

I was so out of my league. Fancy parties, expensive cars, and a private school for the elite...it sounds like a dram. But everything is not as perfect as it seems on the outside. Here, the secrets are dirty and the lies comes easy.....

Welcome to My Fab Life......

Kihanna, your average high school junior about t enter her senior year of high school. Raised by her middle class single mother she enjoys her life but has a constant need to find out who her father is.....and suddenly she does.

Kihanna finds out about her billionaire father, social climbing step-mother and sleazy step-brother and enters a whirlwind of drama, social climbing and lies.

This story I
is very much young adults, you feel with Kihanna how she's trys to find her place in a world she's wayyyy over her head In. The Fab Life is only a tease of what I feel Mercy Amare has to offer. You get sucked into the story of Kihanna, Gabe, Ty and everyone else that when you hit the last page you cant help but wonder whats happening now.
The Fab Life can one day be a television series,  and I would be glued to the tube each week wondering what adventure Kihanna will be on next.
A combination of clueless, sweet valley high and mean girls but still very much its own.

i give The Fab Life by Mercy Amare.....

Excerpt

My palms are sweating, and my heart literally feels like it’s going to beat it’s way out of my chest. I decide that I may vomit before the night is over, but hopefully it won’t be on myself or Ty. I run my hand over the bannister was I walk down the stairs. I keep in there incase I trip, which is very possible. I try to focus on the steps and not on the fact that I’m about to go out of my first date.
Gah. I hate that word. Date. It’s too gray. I like black and white. Nothing about this night is black or white.
I count the steps as I walk down. There are exactly 32 steps from the top floor to the bottom floor. When I get to the bottom, I am forced to look up at Ty. He looks good. Really good. Dammit. He doesn’t look nervous at all. In fact he looks completely cool. Of course he’s cool. He’s probably been out on like a million dates before. Why should he be nervous?
I am relieved to see that he’s wearing jeans and a concert shirt. I didn’t underdress or overdress, and I’m glad I decided to wear jeans. I’m going to ask Toby’s advice more often.
“You look beautiful,” he says, and then hands me a bouquet of purple flowers.
Flowers = date, right?
Ugh, why does this suddenly feel awkward?
I take them from him. I have no idea what kind of flowers they are. I feel like I should know, but it’s not like I frequently get flowers from guys. “Thank you. They are beautiful.”
What am I supposed to do with the flowers? Am I supposed to take them with us? Or am I supposed to leave them here? There should a Dating for Dummies book that covers this. Maybe there is. Memo to self - look it up. I will be more prepared next time.
Next time? Calm down, Kihanna, I tell myself. Let’s get through tonight before we start thinking about a second date.

More Than You Know by Alexandria Rhodes

Title: More Than You Know
Author:  Alexandria Rhodes
Genre: New Adult Romance
Publication Date:  May 14, 2013
Event organized by: Literati Author Services

Synopsis

After surviving a devastating car accident that took her father's life, Bryn Woods feels like she has nothing left in her hometown of Savannah, GA. Along with losing her father, her boyfriend, Tyler, unexpectedly leaves town the same time of the accident. Feeling alone, broken and confused, Bryn leaves Savannah for college in New York City to escape her heartbreak.

Four years later, Bryn returns to Savannah to live in her childhood home. Slowly, she begins to let the people of her past back into her life. She lets the protective walls she's built to protect herself crash down around her. As she begins to find love again with Tyler, secrets start to unravel themselves about his past. Tyler has secrets of his own. Secrets connected to the death of Bryn's father. Secrets Tyler didn't even know he kept.

I LOVED Alexandria Rhodes More Than You Know, though parts of the book seemed predictable Ms. Rhodes was able to captivate an audience with her style and character development. Bryn, the main narrator takes you on the journey of her life, filled with many trials and tribulations each heartbreak becomes your own. I give her credit because some things shes able to forgive i don't know if i have the HEART to do just that. Bryn makes you look at yourself and ask the question "can i be that unselfish?"
Learning about Oliva, Ash, Tyler, Cass, Maria and others thought out the story makes it like they are real and their stories become the story of your friends and family.
In hindsight i expected some small stories to become more meaningful, or find what links them to the development of both main characters that was never established.

I love that the story ends where it ends, its a standalone book that if Rhodes so feels can continue into a series. Throughout the book Rhodes gives an insight on Tyler's POV which is nice to know what goes through his head in certain situations.

I have a love hate relationship with Tyler and Cass, i feel what they did was unforgiveable and finding out why they did what they did wasnt worth the effect their actions caused. Im not a fan on how quickly Bry picks up that situation because it doesn't seem authentic. But times like this i have to remember why Bryn is the person she is, and the experiences she has ive never experience.

Overall, i loved this book and excited to see what Rhodes has to offer the bookworm world.

I give More Than You Know by Alexandria Rhodes

Alexandria Rhodes is a first time novelist from the good old state of Ohio. She is a recent college graduate with a degree in English and Creative Writing. Alexandria has always known she needed to write and has been doing so ever since she bought a typewriter at a garage sale when she was nine. With hundreds of pages of plot ideas, scripts and character descriptions, it is no surprise that she finally came around to writing a book.
Alexandria enjoys reading, writing, reviewing, spending time with family, tweeting (a little too much) and traveling, especially to Savannah, GA and New York City.  Her writing is heavily influenced by her surroundings and the people in her life. She hopes that her stories will touch the hearts of her readers.
